Two views

What makes the two views of the Bulbuls different from each other is the light! It is the light which reveals the true complexion and colours of the Bulbul.

It was a dusky and cold evening yesterday, threatening to rain any time! As I watched this Bulbul family in their romantic mood, I felt the joy of seeing another bird family in our garden.

I found it difficult to take a decent picture of of them as the poor light obliterated their true view. Even with all the adjustments I could make in the camera, the second picture in this blogspot had not captured the true colour combination of the birds.

This experience set me thinking!

There are an array of questions that surface in our minds about he rightness of the way the central government bifurcated Jammu and Kashmir and made them union territories.

What provides credibility to our decisions- using diversely positioned view points to guide the decision.

In public life, the opinions become the lighthouse that can enlighten our thinking.

I was in a meeting yesterday. The three present looked at a situation differently and at the end of the dialogue what emerged was a decision that was beyond the position of each person. The opinions enlightened the decision making process.

I fear that there is a unilateralism in some of our thoughts and decisions. We do not allow the clarity to come to us by listening to other opinions.

How terrible it would have been if I concluded that Bulbuls are blackish at the end of the first round of photographs! It was the desire to capture their true colours, I decided to play with the camera. The result was contrastingly different from the first impression of the complexion of the Bulbuls.

How terrible it would be if we live and conduct ourselves as prisoners of our opinions!

Is it not true that truth lies scattered and most of us have only the fragments of the whole truth! How wonderful it would be in the life of an organisation, department, home, etc. when every person is an active listener of others to receive the enlargement of our views!

God is light, and so a Godward journey is light giving. Others are our companions and openness to them would give us yet another level of consciousness to broaden our perception and thinking!
