There are many stay dogs who live around the eateries. Now that most of the eateries have only take away facility, these dogs subsist from what they receive form dog lovers who bring them a meal.
I met an advocate outside the Court complex and although it was late afternoon, two dogs were in the shade resting. He ii. dog lover. He told me that he brings a packet of food from home every day for them. He mentioned to me that all the four dogs share the same meal with no quarrel. He sounded surprised by this. It looked as though it was a new observation for him- when people aren in need they are less quarrelsome.
He was returning from the Court room after a hearing of dispute between two neighbours over a few feet of property! The case is dragging on for years. He suggested to the litigants that it was not worth fighting this case. He is trained in alternate dispute resolution which is a Court approved form of settling civil disputes. He was pursing this method between the litigants. The advocate was impressed by the collaborative behaviour of the dogs when they are desperate for their daily meal!
We in Kerala are at the threshold of elations to eh Panchayat bodies. It is a politically significant elations as the elected representatives get an opportunity to decide the development plan for the next five years for theIr regions. It is one occasion we notice aggressive and hateful canvassing!
It looks like that the animosity is perpetual between people; when would we see a collaborative community, transcending the political affiliations!
What makes us worthy humans is our neighbourly attitude of friendships! Sometimes even in a small department we cannot go beyond our individual interests! This to me, it has been a challenge because being fraternal is not always spontaneous.
