I now know, why the state of Kerala attracts tourists from outside Kerala.
To have a paved walking track through a forest is a relief to those who are not used to the terrain of the wild or to trekking conditions!
One message I picked up from a visit to a forest nearby to us, which is a also a tourist attraction is preservation of the natural ambience of the wild, and yet providing what adds comfort and ease for people ! There was even provision for all the essential needs of the tourists along the walking track.
Tourism is both an industry and a hospitality service.
It is only when it is inclusive of all those, especially those who feel excluded, it shall be effective for leisure for those who need it most!
I feel that lives are lived under pressure and haste. So leisure, relaxation, restful reflections, meditative walks and silent seasons are valuable retreat experiences for the soul!
