Two of our friends have moved on to using this mode of transport for their mobility! Their joints are no more strong to carry them around! It is a transition which imposes some restrictions!
However both of our friends have found joy in using them and do most of what they used to do reasonably well to keep them active and involved!
For me a transition that I would feel uncomfortable as of now is if I am not able to drive a car!
A car travel has become a symbol of freedom!
In the earlier years when I started driving it was the pleasure of driving; but now it is the pleasure of going to places to discover and explore!
Of late Anna and I have been preparing to convert part of our living space into a mausum of places and people that we have been part of for the last thirty five years! Fortunately we have an out house that we can use for this purpose!
It is good to prepare for transitions. Yesterday, Anna and I have had a long conversations with three interns to make their transition from being students to interns real! They were thinking of having a seminar on transitions for a medical students!
