Every time, Anna and I go to the Immanuel Church on Sunday morning, where we are currently worshipping members, we are in a surprise for the the way the sun rays cast the shadow of the cross on the window pane! It is different each time.
The cross at all times gets amplified in size with the sun rays fall on it.
In fact it is this sight that I focus on while waiting for the service to begin!
The cross as a symbol of faith is central to those who are followers of Jesus of Nazareth.
While speaking at the National prayer breakfast, president Barak Obama brought in to focus the love language of the cross on which Jesus was hanged. Even at the provocation of rejection and undeserved punishment, the words spoken by Jesus from the cross, 'Father forgive..' exemplify the foundation of our faith. He referred to this forgiveness as personal and universal. He confessed that his greatest dilemma has been to reconcile between love and justice when he has had to take several decisions to inflict pain upon people to bring justice to others.
We enter into another lenten season on ash Wednesday next week and it is the cross which would become the centre of meditation for the followers of Jesus!
The cross has a larger meaning and appeal to humankind!
