A rainy day from morning with no respite in between or sunshine in our garden ! The bird movements were few. The visitors to the feeding table were only three Bulbuls.
Just before dusk, three parakeets arrived in the garden. Each of them found rambutan to feed on.
I watched with interest how they searched and found ripe rambutan to feed on!
Elsewhere in the world, the Israel-Iran conflict was intense. Families were waiting at the BJ Medical college, Ahemmadabad to receive the bodies of those who died in the plane crash. The president of the USA was demonstrating the might of the American army on its 250 th anniversary parade. The Prime minister of India was setting out overseas for visiting three nations.
Many in Israel and Gaza live in the bunkers to be safe during the war with considerable limitations and inadequate provisions.
The three parakeets reminded me of the daily travails of many in the world, while some live in comfort and luxury!
This is an indication of denial of justice and equal opportunity!
I closed the day reading the call that came to the prophet Isaiah of the Old Testament of the Bible :
'Learn to do good; seek justice, reprove the ruthless, defend the orphan.Plead for the widow'(Isaiah 1:17).
This message of Isaiah proclaimed between 716-698 BC resonates in human hearts, as humans live harming each other in different ways!
Even on a day that rained from morning till evening, the parakeets found their feed! There is enough provision for everyone! Why then confront each other! Why be covetous to take possession of what belongs to others!
I present the story of the three parakeets because they came to visit our garden to bring a message of comfort and hope in troubled times! They flew away to their night shelter with bird calls of gratitude!
