Pottery Art!

Earthen vessels over pebbles of stones! This is a recent addition in the lawn of a historic building I visit often!

The pot and jar symbolise water in many rural household! I find this in some remote villages even in Kerala, where living conditions are better when compared to rural parts in some northern states!

The pot stores water and the jar is used to pour water into a tumbler when a person asks for a drink!

Someone fills the pot with water; the pot cools the water and the pot gives it away for others to quench the thirst!

This is the cycle of receiving and giving!

We are told by Jesus of Nazareth, 'Do not lay up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal'(Mat.6:20).

One of the meditation thoughts during the year end reflection for Anna and myself was on our habit of giving! We are still on our journey to make it as a way of our living!
