The evening time in the garden brings a different hue of colours than what one finds in the morning golden hour! The subdued look of the above flowers is a prelude to dusk setting in!
The darkness hide the colours!
The physical darkness and and inner darkness are two different realities.
The inner darkness is a matter of concern!
My thoughts went to a saying of Jesus of Nazareth in the Sermon on the Mount: '...If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness ?' (Matthew 6 :23).
The inner darkness has a defining effect on attitudes and thoughts.
I know of a neighbour who trespasses into other's property to pilfer whatever he can find ! He is healthy to work, but pilfering is his occupation. In a conversation he told about his habit from childhood. He does not fear being caught and punished. I feel for the darkness that rules his moral conscience !
I had time to look within to search for blind spots or darkness within in different domains. That was a helpful exercise!
