In the process they and other insects feed on the petals as in the second photo.
This garden orchid is a perennial plant with flowers.
What occurred to me was how two ants from two different species are seen alone in the flower!
They are path finders for others. They signal when they find feed for others to join in. The two ants explore for others.
The behavioural psychology of ants is 'collective existence and collaborative living' !
Ants with queen, workers and soldiers form a colony with tasks assigned to individual ants. Their collective behaviour of foraging, nest-building, defending, farming, migrating and co-operative problem-solving create a structure for their existence. They live communicatively by sending chemical signals, making sounds by moving their body or by touching.
I noticed a line of ants spread crawling over a distance of twenty meters, with clusters of ants carrying rice to their nesting place.
I felt overwhelmed by the mystery of their organisational skills!
