Anecdote-1
I watched two children chase each other along the foot path in a garden in Berlin. The older child told me, they were trying out, 'who can run faster'! Even a seven year old is driven by competitive spirit. They were only acting out what happens around them- an instinct to succeed by competing. The older child let her sister win for a short distance. But later her instinct to win took control of her.
I remember a sage telling the story of a guru, who was in the habit of regular pilgrim journeys. Once, he was cooking his chapathi on a hot plate, for his mid day meal. A dog, came dashing in and escaped with a chapati from his plate. He started chasing the dog. The villagers watching this, stopped him and asked , 'What's the matter'! The Guru said, 'I was chasing it to put some ghee on the chapati. Chapathi is no good without ghee. The dog took it away before I could do that'.

Only as we grow in contentment and mindfulness of others , we can find relational way of living.
