It was a delight to watch a green Imperial pigeon perched at a height on a nutmeg tree in our garden! The post monsoon and pre-winter seasons would be special in our garden as that is when earlier visitors and migratory birds would arrive, making some trees their flight stations in the morning or evening.
The way the pigeon was looking around intently and feeling settled in its perch, I thought that it is sensing the environment, which is what birds do while visiting!
What followed was a surprising sight. A Magpie robin arrived to perch in a branch above. That prompted me to think that the pigeon was familiar with other avian residents in the garden !
It is a pleasant sight to watch big and small birds feel comfortable with each other!
The two main tribes in Manipur have been quarrelling between themselves for about two years! The Palestinian conflict is another sad story! The provocative position of the president of the USA in tariffs is yet another sad story ! Is it not a bullying tactic!
We are normally habituated to be fraternal. The interruptions do occur!
The pigeon and the Magpie robin came to the garden to announce the language of fraternity !
