On this special day of September 5, when teachers are remembered and acknowledged, I paused to ponder, who have been my teachers!
I do remember those who contributed to my educational formation from pre-school years to later years while completing formal education- my parents, teachers at different places, and personal friends.
Another group of elders and formators helped me in my personal and vocational formation. I remember them gratefully.
The third group is of parents and children with whom I have had an association for forty five years. They became the informal teachers whose life experiences brought optics and perspectives, upon which I was given an opportunity to build on.
My colleagues and co-workers became the fourth group of influence in my life. Some of them continue to be in touch and I feel moved by their kindness.
The fifth group who continue to influence me are those, to whom I had an obligation to oversee their formal educational formation especially in the speciality that I represent professionally. They are no more 'students', but companions who drew me out to be in a giving role. They touched my life in different ways and gave me strength to continue.
The sixth group are those who have been my well wishers. I have by now today, five messages from senior people who have been my well wishers and support, during the pathfinding pauses in life.
The contribution of Anna as a person and the life companion, stands out as having had the steadying influence in my life. Her patient presence and accompaniment makes me to be, who I am becoming!
I find myself being a learner, surrounded by a rich resource of people who cared to accompany me and affirm me during these years of becoming!
The bunch of flower and buds from our garden above, are for all those mentioned here and others whom I might have forgotten to mention!
Thank you, everyone who led me into life, living and learning! Each of you has been a strand in the fabric of my life!
Each of you inspires me to stay as a learner!
I feel like the flower in the centre, under the shelter of flowers on both sides !
I feel moved and accompanied while going on in this voyage of learning !
