The First arrivals!

The above were the five birds who were present, around the same time  in our garden at day break, a few days ago.

Their day will extent late into the evening, moving from one flight station to another. They might revisit our garden towards the evening.

Their rhythm and ritual have a pattern. They order their lives through the habits and routines of each day.

They attend to their needs and live receiving what the nature offers to them.

It is a way of living, that surprises me. They do not sow, reap or store food, but receive from the reservoir of the plenty in nature.

Their way of living is another way, different from what humans practice by acquiring, storing, and accumulating,  is a striking contrast.

Every day, when birds come to visit our garden, they are messengers of this art of living, pointing us to a God, who gives 'us our daily bread' !

They live hidden except when they are in their flight stations, which is also another dimension of being, which humans need to consider to make it as their habit. A phrase, I come across in the Gospels about the habit of Jesus of Nazareth is  'withdrawing' from the public eye and wanting to move about 'hidden' !

Visibility and hiddenness !

Two essentials of the way of living! It is out of the renewal and readiness experienced in the hiddenness, we are invited to be present to others in a serving role!
