I keep watching this cashew nut tree near the entrance to our cottage every day, since it started flowering abut three months back.
Some still remain as flowers and a few have become fruits.
But the fruits appear at different times which is evident from the second photo, in which one fruit is ready to be picked and the the other two are still tender.
This has surprised me about the process that goes on about the timing of flowers becoming fruits.
It is likely that some flowers would dry up without becoming fruits and some would take longer time to become fruits. This is tree specific.
This gives me a new insight about the Biblical view of life: 'Behold, the farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early rains and late rains. You too be patient, strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. Do not complain brethren, against one another that you yourselves may not be judged..'(James 5:7-9).
In our hurry to see fruits of good works in others, one can be in a hurry to feel disappointed when people you work with remain non responsive or laid back for a season. This is a trap that we are reminded to abstain from.
Offer the early rains and late rains of kindness and patience, when we relate to others. That is one way of enabling and supporting those who need longer time to bear fruits of good works!
