The stillness of the dragonfly is a sight to watch! I found both the dragon flies stationed at the same site, when I came back after a walk of about half an hour in the garden.
It was during that walk I found petals of a rose flower eaten away, giving an artistic touch to the appearance of the petals !
When I was in the sit out of our cottage, I noticed some the movements of leaves in a tree near the feeding station. It was a Greater coulee. It fetched a caterpillar while searching in the foliage.
It was then it occurred to me that the caterpillars in the garden are feeding on the petals.
It was a paradox. The caterpillars feeding on the leaves and petals of flowers become the food for birds like Greater coucal.
Shortly thereafter, I noticed a Bulbul searching for its feed on the bark of a branch. Bulbuls feed on insects and caterpillars.
The flowers below seem to have escaped the attention of the caterpillars!
What surprised me was the important events in the garden, which take place ordinarily but silently !
In a conversation with two friends, I realised how they live with serious existential questions and silently go through the demands of each day, unnoticed by others. They feel the weariness of waiting and do not seem to have immediate hope of respite in the horizon! I was touched by their willingness to wait and explore the next step ahead of them.
The caterpillar, Greater coucal and Bulbul find the garden as their provider!
It was while watching this rose bush, I felt revived within. The rose plant lost one flower, but it still has three our flowers left, which too will fall away, followed by new buds in the plant in due season!
Life is an experience of losses and gains! The gains supersede all losses!
The Dragonfly reminds me of the purpose of stillness or waiting- it restores itself to fly again!
Life is a continuum of waiting and finding!
