It was while at a lake during the week end, Anna and I had an opportunity to witness the surprises in nature at dusk !
The nature receives a hue of colours unique to this time of the day; the water birds return to their shelters and the evening routines of the strollers and walkers begin on the pedestrian path!
A transition time is a unique time with surprises, sights and insights!
The still poise of the water birds caught my attention. They were beside the land, with the cover of thick overgrowth to which they shall move next, after having been at the edge of the waterbody for a while.
I wish I had my usual camera to capture these movements of birds in better clarity!
The birds reflected calmness and readiness to welcome the night fall! It was as if they close the day and enter the darkness of the night to rest to begin the next day!
This ritual of closure of the day drew my attention!
I realise how such sense of closure of a day is not a regular experience for me. I drag the evening with a feeling that there is something more to be done!
For the water birds, the sunset is the time to pause and move on to stillness ! Its evening ritual starts with grooming of the body! It pays attention to itself!
A mindful way of living! During most of the day a water bird is airborne or waiting for its feed at water bodies. The evening time and night is for resting and recovering!
The climate in which we live is driven by wealth creation! The industry leaders seem to talk about ten to twelve hours of work a day, seven days a week!
We have life and living experience of fulfilment because we rest before we work!
Thew rhythm of day and night is a message that we too are conditioned and destined to work from rest!
