The inside and outside

The two flowers, one with an inside view and the our with only its outside view!

I felt surprised to see how the outward is different from the inside.

Just seeing the flower from outside gives an incomplete view of the flower.

We live at a time when what appears outside is what seems to matter! So the dress we wear, the house we live in, the car we drive, the possessions we have seem to so important that ones' identity is often equated to the abundance of things one possesses.

But the inside of the flower gives an appearance of fullness.  The colourfulness and the details of the flower come alive only when we view the inside.

The interior of our life is a sacred place! The external or the temporal provides the space for  the interior.

How are we to make the interior space of our life to be the centre of our true self, where kindness and thoughtfulness abide!

A senior citizen, who retired from government service comes to a government hospital every day with food packets at lunch time for five people. He has been doing this ever since he retired ten years ago. He comes riding on a bicycle and does not get noticed by others. The goodwill gesture which he does quietly and thoughtfully reveals his character and mindfulness. There are times when he takes food to the homes of people who need support during an illness.

What truly matters is who we are inside!

While many people conceal the darkness inside by impressive acts, those who live with the light from within live serving others:

I wish, that the vision of my heart would be:

Giving because of wanting to love,
Cheering others mindfully,
Enthusing others to experience joyfulness in life,
Accompanying others to experience fullfillment,
Friendship to make others feel loved,
Enabling someone to grow in hope and charity,  and
Moving on at the right time with joyful acceptance of what was given!

The way to live is by pursuing the vocation of loving our neighbour as ourselves!

That begins in our consciousness first! Hence the interior of our lives needs far more attention!
