Anna and I recently attended a marriage service in the St John's Church, located in the Vellore fort!
To return again after a time to this church where we had worshipped during our thirteen years at Vellore, and where both of our children, Arpit and Anandit were married was a memorable occasion.
St, John's church, celebrating its 175 years now, is a historical church, which is also contemporary in its mission and calling. We have found here a calling towards God and a relationship between members of the congregation. In the two morning Sunday services and the week day meetings there is an earnest effort to minister to the needs of children, youth and adults.
After the COVID season, the members of the congregation have become active and responsive to restore the relational life in the church for which the current presbyter of the church takes a lot of initiative.
A church is a congregation of people who are on a pilgrim journey! The minister of the church functions as the shepherd and the members of the congregation are fellow travellers. We have felt this has been the way during our years of association with this congregation.
It was refreshing to return and to feel connected!
