Another dimension!

I have been most encouraged by the commissioning of five research studies in the department where I work, all approved by the Institution Research Board and Ethics Committee. It was a spontaneous response from interns  and my colleagues which made this possible.

At the fourth year of the department there are some research questions which have surfaced which need some attention!

As I look back, what we are struggling with are the practice guidelines for different clinical situations   which we come across in children with neuro-developmental needs.

One recent experience which changed our practice guideline is the discovery that  lactating mothers and their infants are found vitamin deficient on testing their blood. This has surprised us and has made us look for reasons and remedies.

Sometimes we come across surprise observations which make us alert and to innovate!
