The morning sights in our garden with flowers and birds offer a refreshing look. The flowers in the morning sun in their contrasting colours bring a delightful sight. The birds at the feeding station give a homely touch to the garden.
I look forward to these sights each morning, because they bring a message of aliveness.
We need experiences to inspire us. The routines and rituals of each day can keep us confined and constricted.
It was while watching this opening flower, I felt awakened to see the different layers of petals that form this flower. Beyond the four layers of petals which are visible now, there would be a few more awaiting to become open!
Becoming open is the fruit of living! A flower symbolises openness. A flower reveals its inside for others to see! A flower's nature is growing openness. It is also an openness to be an offering. A flower graces occasions of jubilation and mourning. Its openness makes it present to fulfil a purpose.
A friend who sent Anna and me photographs of her playful engagement with her one month old son, highlighted the interactive openness. While mother focussed her gaze on her son, the son's response was smile and fixing his gaze on the mother's face. Th is how attachment process evolves between a mother and child.
What openness offers is relationship of intimacy!
Every time I watch an opening flower, a question surfaces within- How much am I becoming open!
It is when one becomes open incrementally, we can share our thoughtful ways of concern and interest with others.
Becoming open to others is a gracious act of kindness and a gesture of goodwill!
Flowers have no inhibition to be open! Its fullness is in its openness!
The flowers become open to others around!
I have these thoughts within me as I begin another day!
Becoming open is a maturing experience in self giving!
