For about two years, at least in the state of Kerala medical students were denied regular class room and bedside learning due to the restrictions imposed on them due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
Yesterday, two doctors who finished their internship and getting ready to leave the institution, told me how two batches were denied the regular convocation at the college for the same reason. Both the batches organised a private gathering to simulate the convocation. The college teachers could not formally participate in these events.
I felt awful when I heard the story of how students feel unready to be clinically sound due to these long spells of lack of bed side training!
I wonder if medical schools would come forward to welcome students from two batches of students to come as volunteers to have hands on learning, even after they finished the regular course to give them more clinical skills!
