All in its time!

It during a week the the Lilly bloomed from its bud stage! It has its own rhythm.

It is which made me think about childhood!

They grow and change!

They are planted in the soil of our home!

I have some searching questions within me as to how children develop good habits!

A boy five years who would squeeze the paste tube form its tail end did so because that is how he saw his mother do. A nine years old child does not bother to keep his table as he did not see his father keep his table tidy!

I request parents to make a list of habits they want to see their children practice. With the list, when I dialogue with them, I realise that most parents do not practice what they want their children to develop as a habit!

If children grow up in an environment where they do not see parents follow good habits, the chance is that children give little attention to good habits.

The 'soil' of the home where our children grow up, nurtures them to be what they are to be later!

Many habits we do not find in our children are perhaps not present in parents also!  If parents aspire for habits in children, which they themselves cannot practice, then they group without good examples or role models!

A parent told me recently that, it took a deliberate effort on his part to reduce the screen time of entertainment to less than one hour, for his two middle school going children to change their habits.

Habits are acquired by observing and not through listening to instructions!
