Awareness!

The crow Pheasant is not a common bird in our garden. When I sighted it, I tried photographing from a distance of about fifty meters.

The shutter sound of the camera alerted the bird and it turned to me and flew away!

Even the 'silent' mode of the shutter sound was loud for the bird! What a sense of awareness!

It is natural for most birds.

However, we as humans who are naturally self absorbed can grow in 'awareness' of people and situations by cultivating a habit of observing and discerning!

This awareness is not to protect ourselves, but to be service to others.

Yesterday I received a mail from a professional living overseas, who mentioned that the memorable experiences in his life were, when he was able to think of others and reach out to them in their needs even before they asked him for help.

The sense of awareness leads us to the art of mindfulness!
