Each rose flower in our garden is different from the other in its colour, arrangements of petals, size and fragrance !
This diversity is what makes a garden colourful and diverse with a variety flowers.
There are 21 different rose bushes in our garden and each of them has its distinct features.
Every country has its first occupants or settlers, natives, immigrants and foreign visitors. They lived together although some tensions between people broke out sporadically.
Now the immigrant population is seen in some countries with suspicion and disdain although the immigrants brought considerable professional competencies in different fields.
We seem to loose the fraternal feeling that normally binds people to be cohesive, co-operative and collaborative.
The global community living in different countries since the second world war was becoming a shared community on earth. Now that too is threatened by high tariffs on import of goods from other countries to the United States of America. The United States by making immunisation of children against communicable diseases no more obligatory is raising an alarm of concern about future well being of children.
The shift in focus to wealth generation and acquisition from wellness for all is a path towards polarisation and division in a community. In that backdrop of compulsive behaviour and obsessive preoccupation, there are many who speak the language of fraternity and raise the voice of reason for sober behaviour and mindful actions in favour of others!
About 100 air crafts and equal number of ships are waiting to bring relief to people in Gaza who are returning to re-begin their sojourn. It this spirit of giving and solidarity we ought to celebrate and acknowledge. But this giving has to be multiplied as Gaza is a devastated territory with damaged buildings and arid landscape with water supply, power, hospital services disrupted ! Where will children go to as schools were damaged in the bombing!
Dalai Lama has lived in exile for fifty years now advocating and canvassing for human brotherhood and universal peace! Arch Bishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa was one another person who spoke a similar language.
The garden of life is threatened of its existence!
Each rose flower in our garden represents its richness and propagates the message of bountifulness in diversity!
I stay confused wondering whether we do enough to celebrate human brotherhood and universal peace!
I hold on to the prospect of universal peace with the evidence of cessation of war in Gaza !
