Symbolism from a Dragonfly !

The larvae of a  Dragon fly would take five years to be an adult;  once it becomes an adult it might live from one month to six months.

I noticed six different dragonflies during the morning walks this week. There are about 5000 species of Dragon fly world over, out of which about 42 are recognised in India.

They intrigued me for years, for their ability to remain still in uncommon places, with an upward inclination of their body.

I felt fascinated by a suggestion made about the 'spiritual' significance of Dragonfly. They symbolise, 'change, transformation, adaptability, and self-realization. The change that is often referred to has its source in mental and emotional maturity and understanding the deeper meaning of life'!

What a propound statement about Dragonfly, which receive little attention!

If it can be still for long time, there is something about it being a symbol of larger meaning in life.

I sat down today, for half an hour looking at a dragonfly to see if it moved. It did not! By then I was tired of watching!

We are surrounded in our environment with profoundly meaningful symbols !
