The monsoon sight!

The rain lilies at the edge of our courtyard garden and some in pots are in full bloom, following the incessant rain of the last week. They bloom when they are fully soaked in water. The sporadic blooming of a few each day may escape our attention. But not when they bloom together and give a pinkish hue to the garden. There are a few yellow and white ones among them.

These lilies flourish like this, because Anna gives meticulous attention to them.

The spider lily above also blossoms following the spell of rain. The dragon fly resting on it caught my attention because of its stillness.

The lilies and a dragonfly!

The Lilies remain dormant for several months till they bloom.

The Dragonflies spend half of their time each day resting.

The rich and exuberant colours arise out of their season of dormancy. The swift movement of the Dragonfly in the air springs from its habit of resting for long hours !

The resting time is a preparation time for aliveness !

The resting time is a prime time to for being attentive and diligent!

The times of silence bring similar benefit to us to grow in attentiveness and contemplative outlook to life!

The contemplative attitude creates within us an insight to see events and experiences beyond their superficial appeal. The insight to see the depth of situations and experiences arises from the time spent in silence and waiting!

The experiences of transition and transformation begin within us during times of silence and waiting!
